Running race 17:33 [5] 5.0 km (3:31 / km)
shoes: Nike Flyknit One+

Part 1 of the parkrun "triple crown" at Lake Mac. Bit slow getting out of bed which meant I was cutting it fine to get there and then I got breath tested which cost me a minute or 2. As a result I missed the start by about 20 - 30 secs, started dead last and had to run through the field. Went a bit too hard because of this though. Started to dry reach around 4kms in which was odd, so backed off and cruised in from there for 4th place. Will be interested to see the official time to see how disadvantaged I was.

Edit: Official time was 18:00 so started 27 seconds behind. winner did 17:33. so probably would have won if I'd made the start

Part 2 at Blackbutt. Wasn't feeling great after Lake Mac and planned to take this one easy, as the course being used was the supposedly harder original. However I cruised off the line into the lead and no one went with me. Built a bit of a gap up and pushed a little bit down the hill towards the end. Ended up winning comfortably which was surprising, especially in a field that included Scott Westcott (he wasn't trying obviously). as usual my gps measured 250m over for Blackbutt, not sure whether its just my watch or if it is actually long. Absolutely drowning in sweat as the day began to heat up.

The final part at Newy. Had no idea how this was going to go beforehand. 2 guys sprinted off the line and I let them go straight away. Got into a nice pace and pretty much grinded that out the whole way. The winner was miles ahead of me but I came in 2nd (results say 3rd but it was definitely 2nd) and was the 1st out of anyone doing all 3 parkruns. So on cumulative time I'm pretty sure I took out the "triple crown" haha. Legs pretty sore now.

Won't be able to make it to street o tonight unfortunately as I have to work and Valentine is too far to make it back in time. I'm sure some people will be very happy to hear that ;) Pretty disappointed though as my consecutive events tally was getting nice and high again.

Day 4 at Ophir. I've always seemed to do well at Ophir and today was much the same. Felt good running, finally had some confidence in my ankle braces to push a bit and was pretty clean. Only mistake was when I went to 9 before 8 but it wasn't too bad. Came 4th which I'm pretty happy with

Day 3 at rocky falls. Pretty good run except for losing a minute due to bad route choice to 8. Very hesitant coming into 13 as well. Finished in 8th

Day 2, khali's rocks. Pretty cautious through the terrain as was trying some new ankle braces. Started ok, missed 1 a little but then lost time on 5 - 8 including a heap at 7 where I was a contour too low and got confused by the rock. Then lost another big chunk at 11 where I was on the wrong bare rock. Struggled a bit physically too. Finished well down the placings today.

Xmas 5 days sprint. Felt so slow and was really struggling by the end. Nav could have been better. Time was ok though which was surprising
