Relay training on Bankov. Great forest, amazing visibility and tricky enough in the ditches to be tough. Taking it very easy now, legs are a little fatigued. Walked around Baziny in the arvo, about a 3km course practicing map memory stuff

More long training. Just cruising, checking out the map and vegetation and trying to get my head around negative terrain. Stopped a lot and walked a few times. 40 mins on Jašteričie jazero and 40 mins on Torzo (great area). Think I'm going to find the long the hardest with negative terrain in 3 different vegetation types which require different techniques in the race

out at one of the middle training maps. amazing area, so runnable and high visibility. felt so much more comfortable in this terrain, much like gold mining except different, generated by landslips. short intervals on a track and then a few controls in the bush when the heart rate is high. did fairly well, hit most of the controls well and felt a lot more comfortable. jogged around some more of the map after. so hot, was drenched in sweat. going to the lake later will be awesome

first time into karst terrain at one of the long maps. started off with map memeory which was really tough first time in new terrain. went pretty slow and had to check the map a lot. brodie and i got lost on one leg as well.

mass start race. didn't go very hard as was very hot and i ended up really dehydrated towards the end. struggled a bit at first but started to take much more conservative options and got round better. walked a bit towards the end as was tired. looking at maps and others routes later, im not sure my ways were the best. going to try some more direct approaches on wednesday and evaluate how comfortable i feel for race day

last run in australia before i go. just out to merewether baths and back. first 10 mins was easy but then pushed a bit after that. felt really good in places and average in others. looking forward to tapering from here on

prelim course setting at brokenback east for my minor event in august. super happy with my courses, tried to use the best part of the map (in my opinion), which means only about a third of the map is used ;)
made a few slight adjustments on a fair few control sites, but nothing major. the map has thickened up a lot unfortunately but theres still some really nice sections. was very stop start though, probably for the best as i felt much like i did at ballarat training camp, congested and blocked up :(

ran down to brush creek road for a 3k hit out. however my garmin died halfway though so i don't even know what time i did. cranky now. not helped by the fact that i'm not feeling very well. again.
