Orienteering (Troll Cup Day 1) 1:23:10 [5] 6.64 mi (12:32 / mi) +340m 10:48 / mi
spiked:7/14c

Mt Norwottuck. Heavy going, lots of Mtn Laurel. 3rd M45, so a pretty good run, but did not feel that I was orienteering well. Knees still not 100%.

Trail run 43:45 [3] 4.0 mi (10:56 / mi)

Blueberry Hill Loop. Failed to warm up properly - tight hams and calves, rickety knees, for two days afterwards.

Trail run (rolling) 1:05:45 [3] 6.2 mi (10:36 / mi) +170m 9:46 / mi
ahr:147 max:166

Taconic Crest Trail: Petersburg Pass <-> Snow Hole. Ran return trip five minutes faster than out. Felt good after sluggish start. Gorgeous morning with bright sunshine on ridge above valley fog.

Orienteering (US Relay Champs) 35:07 [5] 3.82 km (9:12 / km) +155m 7:39 / km

Third leg for 8 point team with Aims Coney, Maria and JJ Cote. (Brown - so called) Ran first two legs hard but stupidly - trying to stay close to the line like the day before, taking too much climb and too much slowing down to read the map. Made decision to change tactics after #2, and run least-resistance routes as hard as I could. Did much better after that - better focused and all cylinders firing. Picked up three places. Failed to get stopwatch started, so no splits.
