Training Log Archive: Atropos

COC middle Lewes Lake. The start of the race went really well. I caught up to Claire Critchley, who had started two minutes before me, at the first control. Carol caught me at 3 and we were together for 4, 5 and part of 6. I kept seeing Claire until we had to slog up to the spectator control at 9 (where Louise passed me also). I had a momentary scare on 10 but recovered quickly and was very competitively place until I blew up at 13. I thought that I was super solid going into the control but I just couldn't find it. I tried to relocate twice and eventually Pam came along and rescued me. I was so disappointed in myself because I had been doing so well and then I lost 6-7 minutes right near the end. The rest of the course was ok although I did take one slightly strange route choice. Overall, very happy with the race. It was technical and I felt on top of it and it was physical and I felt strong and I only had the one big error.
