Note
(sick) (rest day)

Had vague plans of possible fell races, impulsive dart back to Kendal, or generally a nice long run. However, I felt rough as a badgers arse this morning, so I'm off to stock up on orange juice and lemsip instead.

Running 10:00 [1] 1.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Orienteering race 34:35 [5] 6.3 km (5:29 / km) +235m 4:38 / km
(sick)

2nd leg for AIRE on the Men's Premier. Legs felt ok from yesterday, and body felt a bt less gunky as well, so went into this with a bit more hope.

Ian had a solid run to come in 11th, well amongst the chasing pack. Got the first few ok, but not spectacularly, but was running stronger than yesterday. On my own until the second wall crossing, where I dropped 30s or so by taking a bad line to the cairn, number 8. I was chasing down SYO and HOC in the distance now, and got level with them on the long path run to 13.

Slowly moved away from SYO, and just outsprinted HOC at the end to hand us over in 7th. Best relay performance in a while (I need to be kept well away from 1st leg), and a nice way to finish the weekend. Steve maintained 7th for an excellent overall team performance.

Event: BOC 2012

Running 10:00 [1] 1.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Orienteering race 2:05:57 [4] 12.0 mi (10:30 / mi) +690m 8:54 / mi
(sick)

Now, I don't want to sound too much like David Haye, but unfortunately I wasn't match fit going into this. Fitful night sleep, sore throat, nose running more efficiently than I.

Gave it a go regardless, but was lacking power straight away, walking up the hills, and struggling on the flats. Navigation wise, I lose a few minutes on 11, but I was never going to be in the game today. Caught up by Duncan Archer towards the end, who I shamelessly took a tow off for the remainder.

On the plus side, first ever race using energy shots, and they worked well. I also felt I had a bit more left in the tank at the end. Not been ill for a year or so now, so bad timing, but that's how it goes.

Running 40:00 [2] 5.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

Systems check around Eccup. Not too good.

Football 55:00 [2]

Was going to run, but still feel sore and a bit under the weather, and there's no benefit to be had from running at this stage. Easy football match, took a few heavy knocks, but should be ok.

Note
(sick)

Sore throat - not needed.

Note
(rest day)

Wrecked by DOMS today, will skip Calverley this evening, and overeat instead. Mixture of squash, road running in Inov8's, and a heavy 2 or 3 weeks.

Squash 1:00:00 [2]

Again, very intense match with Nick. Won 4-2 this time, at the expense of some skin on my hand. Expecting to be broken tomorrow.

Running 1:20:00 [3] 11.0 mi (7:16 / mi)

With the club. Wore o shoes. Good on the mud, not so much fun on the 4 mile road return. Decent pace at times tonight, legs feeling tired from squash earlier.
