Aus Champs Relay

Ran 1st leg in M55 and started by missing the 1st and made a 30sec error and then lots more little mistakes, I was running with Bruce Bowen and Adrian Uphill for part but got away from them on the cross over only to find Bruce again later and let him get away from me on the last but one control where I decided to the follow the creek but miss read the rock and stopped too soon. Eoin (Walking?) passed my when I was too low for a lonley rock and had to head back up the hill

Steady runs from Ken Post and Dan Greig held us up there as others fell apart

Surprise badge, when I got a call from Ken Post asking what I wanted done with the badge. Looking at the results 4 teams had miss punches of a good runner having a hard time TAS, ACT & NSW all miss punched and Adrian Uphill had a bad day

2 Badges for the Carnival so happy about that although more from others mistakes than my brilliance

Aus Long Champs

Was going pretty well through to 9 which was the long leg and I managed to pick out the big gullies before the control, then it all started to go wrong!

Struggled in the vague stuff to 10 and lost 4 minutes then OK through 11 & 12 but a 10 minute error on 13 was the end of it for a reasonable time but finished off Ok

Australian Sprint Champs at Bicheno

Interesting variant on Urban areas, with the map along the rocky foreshore

Hung in well with a few nervous moments but only small errors and other fancied runners made big mistakes or missed controls - ended up 3rd so happy with this

Bush Walking 2:00:00 [1] 7.8 km (15:23 / km)

Did both official walks on the Blue Tier Forest reserve.

1st Walk was Moon Valley Rim Circuit 3.4km "2 hour" which was just under an hour. Nice walk in Alpine open scrub with a lots of low rock and great views out to the coast and inland.

Stopped for lunch and then I headed off alone on the Australia Hill Circuit, 4.4km, while Nicole did the Goblin Forest walk. Australia Hill is not as good as the Moon Valley walk, lots of boggy sections and slippery mud and mostly in the trees so few view points.

Drive on to a cool pub in Weldborough for a Van Diemans Pale Ale then checked out Scottsdale but moved on to Bridport for the night. Nice walk along the waterfront and now have the resources for a river walk, thanks to super helpfull tourist lady, in the morning. Plan to vist Mt William NP tomorrow

OZ Middle Champs - went quite well and had a fastest split to the 1st control which was subtle 7/11m Boulder that I could see from just past the start triangle!

Tricky thick tin mining in light green for the next few but lost 3-4 minutes on #7 when I got with a few metres of the control and turned away - Adrian Uphill stormed past me and I tried to hold on but just too quick
