Orienteering Meet race 2:20:00 [5] 6.5 km (21:32 / km)

Bad to worse is how I describe day two. My heart was not in it for Sunday. I would have rather slept in and stayed home. So when it came time to race, I was trying but was off from the very beginning. I was racing and attacking the course, but had no mental focus. Bummer. I thought of giving in, but kept at it. I misspunched at 20. There were two fairly lined up controls and I missed the first, hit the second thinking it the first and then headed for the second and nothing made sense on my map... Total bummer.

On the plus side, Drew had a great time both days. His second race was pretty solid, so his overall races were good enough for 6th. Very good since he only raced twice in the past 12 months. I am very proud of him. He messed up the sprint a bit, but once he was on target, he was only modestly behind my times. I.e., 1:00 v. 1:20, 2:20 v. 2:45 etc. That shows a lot of promise. Also, he was so excited to be at the event. I was so happy to see him jacked about the races.

Orienteering Meet 2:46:30 [5] 9.1 km (18:18 / km)

A meet. Best and worst race. I was smoking hot the first half. I was nailing everything and moving well. THEN......I ran right off the map. I ran much farther than my navigation and when I stopped, I was in a mess. I got back on track, but then had an average bobble. Between the two, I gave up 30 minutes. Total bummer. My fitness is good. My orienteering is weak.

Crossfit 1:00:00 [3]

Right from the ride to CF. I was not sure how this would go. AMRAP in 15 minutes of: 25 walking lunges, 25 kettle bell swings (#54) and 20 knees to elbows on the rings. I got 4 rounds, plus 47 reps. A pretty good score compared to my buddies and certainly not bad after a 20 mile ride. :)

Biking - Road 1:18:20 [3] 20.1 mi (3:54 / mi) +300ft 3:51 / mi

Super rainy ride home from work to the Lynnwood P&R. I felt slow at times, tough to push through the rain I guess. Nice to open it up on the second half for the good workout.

Biking - Road 1:50:00 [3] 21.0 mi (5:14 / mi)

Bike home with Rebecca Heine. First time from the office to Lynnwood for Rebecca. Way to go. Rained the entire time. She was a bit tentative and slowish, but did fine. It was hard to be slower than usual, especially when Murray came by and asked me to speed up, but I am sure many people ride/ran slower with me than they otherwise would have over the years. Paying back the Karma bank.
