Swimming 17:53 [4] 0.7 km (25:33 / km)

Not a good start to the race....there were only a handful of us that dared to do this swim without a wetsuit (I don't actually have one, but this race has convinced me that it will be my next purchase). I suffered through the extremely cold water, but really couldn't catch my breath...I knew my time would not be good, so the plan was to just finish it and not worry about the time.

Cycling 41:00 [4] 20.0 km (2:03 / km)

I think T1 was slow, but haven't looked it up on my watch yet....I had to spend some time getting dry (and warm). Headed out on the bike for 4 loops of a 5km course (not really my favourite, since this required so many sharp turn arounds), but it wasn't too difficult. The most challenging part was keeping watch of all the water on the road, including all the huge puddles, from the rainstorm that we had just prior to the start. Not sure of T2 time yet either, but I think it was okay. Felt good after the bike.

Running 28:21 [4] 5.0 km (5:40 / km)

Felt really good heading out for the run, and was hoping just to maintain a good pace and not bonk like the last race. The weather, at this point, was ideal for me....sun was out, no humidity, and it was much cooler. I never felt bad at any point during the run and actually enjoyed it!! This was a PB for me in the run portion (during a race anyway), and I probably could have pushed a little harder, but it was so nice not to be suffering. It was awesome to have the whole family cheering me on, including my parents, and I think it was a fun day for all (well, except for the weather!).

Total time: 1:32:37 (7th in my age group).

MTB 1:00:00 [2]

Rode the cottage MTB while superwes ran...it was nice being the support crew for him...it's a tough run, and he did very well (I'm sure my constant chatting and questions about whether he was going to puke really helped him out!).

Cycling (Recumbant) 30:00 [3]

Early morning workout on the recumbant bike while everyone else enjoyed breakfast....can't use my road bike up here as it's pretty much gravel roads. Still, the mountain setting was a nice workout.

Running 18:00 [4]

Mid-day run with Superwes...except I'm a superwimp...can't keep up with him, and I made the MAJOR mistake of running without socks (to see if I could start doing this during my tri's), and I got a large blister on the back of my right heel. Not good considering that I'm doing a race on Sunday. So, the run became superwhiney and supershort for me, but luckily superwes continued on....he's so super!
