Legs feel very tired after yesterday, but after analysing my race I'm really rather pleased with the result. It will be interesting to see how a middle race goes next weekend against some of the big boys. I had quite a few good splits yeterday and was in the top 3 during the first third. Didn't drop too much time during the second and apart from one larger mistake I would have acheived my specific classic distance goal of sub-100mins. But pleased to get one of my main aims yesterday of <15% behind the winner

Timetable has changed so can't make circuits anymore. Was going to do drills with Willy and Crickmore but they both wimped out. So went for a steady hour.
Down to JackW's house and then through Sharrow Vale, Netheredge and Brincliffe to Eccy Road. Down through Greystones to Endcliffe Park then on to Riversdale to do 7*25s(35s) strides, which felt pretty awful. then back via Broomhill.
Legs and core feeling especially crap after yesterday and hills felt like they were made of sand

Wasn't really sure how I felt about this race beforehand, I think I was a bit scared by the distance and how my body would deal with the last 5km.

Set off at a decent pace, then wound it up a little to race pace after about 2km. Turns out I set off very well despite a hesitation to no.2 and was leading at 4 and 5. My navigation was good, with only small hesitations (~5s or so) on 2, 6, 11, 13, 21 and 25. Though one larger mistake cost me about 4mins on 23 where I drifted off bearing and got confused, though this was were I hit a bit of trouble in the running department. My pace slipped here and I struggled to kee the same rythym pre-22. 31 to 33 felt the hardest physically and I was reduced to a walk a few times.

Really pleased with the result though, 5th is pretty good was about 12mins down on Romauldas, 10 on Schorah and 8 on Shmint Dog. Also a bit disappointed to not get under 100mins which was the pre-race aim though I haven't felt great all week and still could have made it without the mistake.

Easy bar the last 30s where Treb tried to cycle further than me so had a sprint finish

Good little course. Though the control tapes weren't very visible so lost a lot of time at the feature trying to check if I was right or not. Also don't have a clue what happened on 11, don't know where I ended up

Hmmm didn't sleep that well again last night and woke up feeling exhausted again. Odd! Going to take it very easy to try get over it by the weekend
