Cycling 1:20:00 [2]

It's about time! 70 degrees (for one day) and my first 'real' ride of 2013. To the Loop via Forest Park. Caught 2 small, tasty tacos at Seoul Taco - nice and spicy. First time.

Return trip - cloudy, a bit cooler, headwind then long slow, slow train at Macklind - which then stopped! ON to Kingshighway (which I never ride). Tried road to east of Kingshighway past RR tracks - same train, but it was moving. Then sidewalk to 44 and across on right side. Carried bike across 2 tracks, trashy, and discovered a skate park! They've built lots of ramps and obstacles using concrete barriers - creative and maybe a dozen guys playing around. I do like urban cycling!

PS: After attending 5 bridge classes, went to big ACBL competition at convention center! Played 27 hands with Jerry of Jackson MS. I only had two really dumb mistakes. I earned 1 Red Point! Will return Sunday for another round.

Swimming 24:00 [2]

6*6 sets.
Still some drainage and coughing spells, but cold seems to be over. Stroke felt good; 36 lengths enough today.

Machines 39:00 [3]

13 double sets at y

Running 10:30 [2]

Laps at Y. Better breathing and pace than a week ago. Legs felt tired at first.

Hmm, no more problems with lower right leg. At SMP, no 'twangs' on Day 1 and only a couple early on Day 2. Recovered?!

Orienteering race 1:07:35 [4]

More consistent, confident than Saturday. Planned ahead well &n selected good routes, 3 small errors. Mediocre pace and slowed especially in 2nd half. 26th on Green Y: Broke topo 20 only on one leg. Hopefully, much due to 10-day head cold+. Noticeable improvement over last 5 days. 3+ weeks to get ready for the Pig!

AP splits 'lost time' very accurate today.
#4: Got confused by trails below spur on route to #4 - lost map contact. Crossed creek, looked left (nothing), went right, stopped by 3 man-made objects. Oops, I should be on upper trail - left and okay. Only -1 since I was confident on-route.

#7: Planned to use road, Tom S used road, I changed mind to be 'clever' and use lower trail. Missed it and ran edge of field then back up. -1 (Prime example of 'Don't change course mid-way without really ggod reason.)

#16: "Follow stream" seemed easiest. Didn't notice that stream bend touched field. Field faster. -1/2
