Cycling 3:20:00 [2]

45-mile ride with STLRC - small group, good company. Old Valmeyer to Fort du Chartres to Port du Rocher to Valmeyer. Flat, still hot, threatened storms never appeared. 80's for weekend? !!!!!!!!!!

Did spend 20 minutes driving around "Valmeyer" looking for park and bikes. Woman at school suggested, "Old Valmeyer"? Yes! (If I remmeber correctly, 'most' of Valmeyer relocated from flood plain to bluffs after one fo the 1990's floods.

Would like to have toured the fort and done 1-2 side hikes. Also, cold winds from huge mining caves in bluffs were amazing.

Cycling 2:40:00 [2]

2nd ride with STL Recreational Cyclists. Lafayette Square to Tower Grove to Forest Park to SLU to Arch and back with stop at Culinaria. Route picked up many of my favorites STL roads - nice design.

And I put in an extra 8 miles BECAUSE: locked bike at break at FP Visitor Center; locked 'friend's' bike to mine; ooops, left key at home; rented FP hybird and biked home; return to FP with bike on rack; returned rental; unlocked bikes and completed ride; then back to FP to retrieve Prius. OOPS - those darn 1st impressions. Other rider was VERY patient and understanding! :)

Running 35:30 [2]

I've used cycling and swimming to get myself back into shape - time to start running again. Even though I waited until midday, Forest Park (mostly Kennedy Forest) was still pleasant for running due to low humidity. Felt good. MHR: 160+ at top of hill. What???? For several years, my max has been 140-145. Another hurdle crossed?

Machines 1:10:00 [2]

To and from Loop with stop for run and shower in Forest Park.
With beer and wrap at Market House Pub, serendipitously got to watch the last 68 minutes of the greatest soccer game in US women's history! 4-3 with Alex Morgan heading winner at 2.5 minutes of extra time after second overtime.

Cycling 35:00 [1]

Easy ride to and from Soulard Farmer's Market - great & local (Bootheel?) apples, peaches, & cantaloupe. Hot and strong southern wind - ugly day for riding. Cooler next week???????????????

Cycling 4:30:00 [3]

To Edwardsville and home via McKinley Bridge, Wilson Park, Nickel Plate, and Schoolhouse. Pushed hard for 45 miles to Horseshoe Lake SP; long break and easy ride in. Light SE then NE wind helped a bit. Very hot - hard to stay hydrated. Okay lunch at Mexican rest. in Edwardsville.

Stair step 24:00 [3]

80/120 rpm. Higher rate felt fine.

11 double sets. Right shoulder definitely improving.

Walking 2:00:00 [2]

Pleasant group hike at Castlewood's GP trail with Sierra Club. '2' due to heat and hills. Crossed paths with a few trail runners and MTB's.

Cycling 3:40:00 [3]

First ride with St. Louis Recreational Cyclists group (formerly Turtles and Turbos and AYH). Parked at Creve Couer and did New Town ride in St. Charles County. About 12 people. Rode with Jim Jeske and two others. Very comfortable pace. This group strongly preferred roads, including 94, to Katy Trail.
