Red Course at Indian Valley with Presto! Looking at the course stats, I thought this would be a great recovery run, but it turns out that in order to only do 175m of climb you'd have to be some sort of magical contouring hovercraft (and increase the distance by ~80%), so I think I did more like 300m-350m of climb. I was also not having a brilliant day of navigation. Luckily Presto was having a fantastic time out there and any day running around in the forest is a good one, so it was all worth it :-). Fun, fun!

shoes: Brooks Running 10

Running with Sam and Presto at Tilden! Presto and I ran to the Cal stadium to meet Sam and then we all headed out for a run up the fire trails. It was a gorgeously perfect day for running, and we definitely took advantage of it :-). The first 1h25m of the run was uphill (yay California!), and there were some awesome views of the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge from the top of Grizzly Peak. Then we took a nice roller coaster route back down (because obviously we hadn't gotten enough up yet!). We said bye to Sam at the stadium and then Presto and I slowly, slowly trudged our way back home, where we had some recovery peanut butter and jelly and then collapsed in a happy puddle of endorphins on the couch :-). Awesome morning!

BAOC training at UC Berkeley with Presto in the rain! Super fun training designed by Andrei. It was complicated enough that I thought it was an April Fool's Day joke at first, but apparently not. Anyway, first we memorized 10 score-O controls. Then we ran a 6 control sprint. Then we ran a corridor-O. Then we did 6 more controls in order while simultaneously getting the 10 score-O controls. Apparently I missed the point of the exercise because I memorized the order of the controls with a song instead of by planning my route ahead of time. I did manage to find all the controls, though, so my technique worked :-). Presto was surprisingly happy to be running through the wet grass. It was quite awesome to have some weather :-).

Stretching 4:00 [3]

A sort of half-hearted stretching session after sending my proposal off to my PI plus evening nerve glides.
