Orienteering 1:45:00 [3]

Checking lots of control locations for the Breakheart meet with SGB and Presto. Presto was extremely hilarious when SGB and I were in close proximity but going to different control sites. He couldn't decide which one of us to stick with, so he spent his time running back and forth between us with a huge grin on his face :-).

Running 28:47 [3] 3.1 mi (9:17 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 5

A very pleasant run after lab with Presto and the ankle brace. I'm starting to feel sick, so I kept this run super easy. I considered not going, but Presto was bouncing off the walls, so we went :-).

Strength 5:00 [3]

Abs.

Biking 11:25 [3] 2.8 mi (4:05 / mi)

PT again. She said that my fascia right behind the peroneal tendon was too full today, and now thinks that perhaps I have mild compartment syndrome in the tiny little compartment behind the fibula. I get the impression she is randomly guessing. She massaged it for a while and said that the pressure decreased while I was there. I know basically nothing about compartment syndrome, but for those people who know at least slightly more than nothing, does it seem reasonable that a sprained ankle would turn into compartment syndrome?

Stretching 15:00 [3]

Nice and stretchy at PT.

Running 27:07 [3] 3.1 mi (8:45 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 5

Running with Presto after lab wearing the ankle brace thing. It was a zero rabbit night, but we did meet another whippet (named Tessa) who was running along the river as well! Presto and Tessa were really excited to see each other at first, but then both got shy and stood on opposite sides of their people and peered around our legs at each other. It was super cute!

Strength 5:00 [3]

Abs while Presto lobbied for dinner.

Stretching 5:00 [3]

Normal after-run stretching.

Jogging to the start with Presto. Feeling tired.

Orienteering 2:38:36 [3] *** 7.4 mi (21:26 / mi)

Red Day 2 at the Boulder Dash with Presto. Ugh. I started out by slowly spiking 1, which was my plan, but then things went downhill from there. I was simply unable to deal with the sheer number of pine trees between me and each of my controls. I got to number 2 and didn't see the flag because of the pine trees, got confused, eventually decided I'd better relocate off number 1 because I just could not find the control to save my life, and then irritatingly came back to exactly the same place and spent more time poking around looking for the control. I eventually found it, but it did not bode well for the day. Control 3 was fine. I stupidly tried to use the water on the road as an attackpoint for 4, but apparently the water on the road was not exactly where the cups were mapped on the map, so I lost another while there. The rest of the course was ok with some bobbles here and there, but I was ready to be done at control 6 out of 19. I just did not feel like pushing through the green that covered basically the entire map. Presto and I did persevere, though, and made it through the course, and at least Presto had an awesome time :-). The weather was awesome and seeing everyone at the meet was super fun and I had a blast yesterday, so all in all it was a great weekend!

Stretching 5:00 [3]

I have a decidedly huge blood and pus filled blister on my big toe. Ouch!
