X-Country Skiing 2:08:00 [3]
Day 2 of Ski Orienteering was both as successful and less successful as Day 1. It was as successful because Browner, Amber and I went out together and did as much laughing as we did orienteering. It was slightly less successful in that we recognized early on that we were not likely to complete the LONG course in our goal time of 2 hours quite early on, so because we didn't take an SI card again and didn't want to be out there all day, we started dropping controls fairly early on. I think we skipped about 5-6 of the 20 controls and ended up with about 12km on the watch, focusing on avoiding areas we had already been to on a prior loop. We found everything we were looking for but were pretty spent by the last half hour or so.
These were both super fun events and I am grateful to the course setters for taking the time to design and set up the course and to Bash for suggesting it. Now if only all the snow weren't disappearing!
