Road and trail combination from home. Found a new trail on Fountain near the airport and even though it was only a couple of km for some reason finding it made the entire ride worthwhile! Saw a coyote hanging about the edge of the forest.

Running 45:00 [3]

Lovely morning run with IronMom (I think that was her last AP handle) on the Grand Valley singletrack. On the road, I wouldn't stand a chance running with her, but she's just getting back into trail running which meant I stood a chance of keeping up! Very humid even at this time of day!

First hydrocut outing of the year with Bash and Mrs. Tiny. The place was jampacked and for good reason - the weather was awesome, if not a bit caribbean-like, and the trails were in excellent condition. Monday's ride at Puslinch helped me get some of my singletrack confidence back and this ride made me remember why the Hydrocut is so much fun to ride.

Post-ride we headed to Taco Farm, a local favourite of mine for refreshing beverages, tasty salads, and yummy tacos. Such a fun night and hopefully we can do it again sometime soon! Thanks for making the trek down Bash! :-)

Trekking/Hiking 1:00:00 [3]

Hike back in from Stormhaven on Monday morning. Here's what I learned from my first solo overnight adventure:

- always bring your poles. I left them behind as I thought this was too short to justify bringing them, but since is the first time I've had a big ol' pack on this year, I definitely could have used them.

- my hammock is worth the weight. If there are going to be trees, pack your hammock!

- don't leave your flask at home.

- no matter how delicious boil in the bag meals might sound, they're not. Don't be lazy and make your own damn meals!

- I need a new sleeping bag! I wore all my clothes and still nearly froze.

Mrs. Tiny and I had a lovely ride at Puslinch trying to dust some cobwebs off our singletrack skills while Tiny and Little Miss Tiny went for a hike and searched for the elusive "golden ticket." Then we all went to the Old Marina for dinner which was packed because it was such a lovely night. The wait definitely made the beer taste better.

Trekking/Hiking 1:00:00 [3]

Booked a site at Stormhaven for my last night at the park and was excited to try out a new backpacking pack I'd picked up at MEC thanks to a very generous Xmas gift from some at the barn: http://www.mec.ca/product/5040-381/gregory-deva-60... It is such a pretty colour and has SO MANY POCKETS!!

This hike wasn't long but it was tough enough with a full pack. Got to my lovely little site just in time for happy hour, a tradition that I have the utmost respect for.
