I have always wanted to do a really early morning ride at the Hydrocut and decided that today was the day so I got up with Andrew and was on the trails by 5:45. Had the place to myself and a great, albeit short ride.
Meant to go to hot yoga tonight but decided I'd rather be outside and indulging in my absolutely favorite adventure racing training activity - riding my bike on country roads. So much fun!
Actually, I guess it wasn't that bad, except for the two long stretches of rocky shit where I struggled to maintain 20kph.
Awesome paddle on the Grand from Bridgeport to Freeport. Andrew picked me up in Freeport and I exchanged my kayak for a short time in my packraft - what a rude awakening that was! Definitely need to get out for some more practice in that thing.
Bruiser, Andrew (I refuse to call him Mr. Funderstorm on principle) and I loaded up our packs and hiked the Hockley loop in the hottest part of the day. Climbs were just as calf-draining as I remembered them and the fish and chips at the Black Birch afterwards were what kept me going in the last hour!
