Running 31:00 [3]

Barefoot run after work to quiet my mind before settling in for a long evening of marking because last night when said memoirs were supposed to be marked I drank too much wine to give feedback any more constructive than "you are awesome." Sigh. Such is my life.

Running hills 50:00 [3]

Shocked to discover that I actually wanted to get up early and get this done before work. 4 X 5 minute climbs. Have I ever mentioned that I don't really like hills? Especially when my HR monitor tells me that I'm not working nearly as it feels like I am.

Strength Training 1:00:00 [2]

6 am Body Pump with Mrs. Tiny. Yeah coffee! Definitely feeling stronger after doing a few of these classes over the past couple of weeks.

Cycling 40:00 [3]

Thought for sure I'd be stuck inside for this one but got home in time to hop out on my bike and watch the sunset along the Grand River. Beautiful!

Running race 2:12:00 [3]

Stephania had been working towards this as a goal race and asked this week if I'd join her. Although a flat road race isn't the most appropriate training for a 50K mountain run, I still thought it would be fun.

I allowed her to choose the goal and the pace. Our pace for the first 10K was decent but then slowed quite a bit during the second half. Nevertheless, she was thrilled to have completed this and to have had the company, which made me happy too :) Plus, we could absolutely have not asked for a better day for this!

As much as I don't love road running, I've always liked the half distance and this was a really nice course (albeit flat). I'd definitely consider going back sometime as I think it would be a great location for a PB.
