Trekking/Hiking 2:40:00 [3]

There is a set of natural warm pools near Jalcomulco that we often bike to, but we've alwats wanted to find a hiking trail over there. Today a few of us set out on that mission, trying to patch together different farming and donkey trails without having to do too much bushwhacking. Alas, our mission was unsuccessful as we ended up back on the road that we would normally bike on. Fortunately, we were able to hitch a ride in a truck within two minutes and got to enjoy the pools anyways!

Since this was a solo mission and I have not had the best of luck with my bike here, I decided on a route on which I could easily hitch a ride back into town should Tony decide to be difficult. Fortunately, he was feeling cooperative today. Really hot out today. I've still got the delayed biking sweats.

Trekking/Hiking 3:00:00 [3]

Completion of yesterday's mission. Drove to the trailhead we had found yesterday and climbed, waded, and jungle-whacked our way up the canyon to the waterfall. Definitely worth all of the rashes and scratches I have all over my legs from breaking the rule of not touching anything green in Mexico. Totally remote huge ass waterfall with no real point of access other than what we had gone through. Awesome. Got there a bit too late to swim, but I did get a bunch of photos, so if I get my act together, I'll post a couple.

Cycling 4:30:00 [4]

An incredibly scenic, yet really challenging day in the saddle that definitely pushed the boundaries between character-building and soul-crushing a couple of times for me. Climbs, climbs, and more climbs, up and down mesas and canyons dodging donkeys and cows along the way. Only one flat today.
