Trekking/Hiking 1:00:00 [2]

Went photo hiking with one of my SLRs in the trails behind our house when the light was pretty. Did a photo shoot with some burros and horses :)

Strength Training 10:00 [3]

Steph and I did a circuit training routine of 20 exercises x 30 seconds each. It only added up to 10 minutes, but boy it felt effective!

Cycling 1:00:00 [3]

My roomies here are being lazy bums, claiming that they are too busy "working" to come biking with me, so alas, this was another solo ride. Gradually working on building my comfort level biking outside of town on my own. Today I took a rock/dirt road that I'd been on before - lots of climbing and beautiful views!

Running 45:00 [3]

First group run. Went early before it got too hot. Lovely out and back on a trail alongside the river. Passed several donkeys along the way. Heartrate was way too high but that is because I was chasing G-unit.

Cycling 1:20:00 [3]

Itching to get out for a bike ride but Geoff and Steph were busy on their computers, so I decided to go solo. Given this, I took the safest paved road that I know and did an out-and-back. Jalcomulco is in a valley, so any training involves some good hill work. Did 8.5 kilometres of climbing, then turned around and whizzed back. Was quite shocked that I got my bike put back together properly - Bobby Miller would be so proud!

Trekking/Hiking 3:00:00 [3]

First real opportunity to anything exciting since we've been here. The first two days were spent getting out casa organized and furnished. That entailed mucho walking but not log-worthy.

This hike was an interesting one. We tried to find a trail that I'd been on before, which eventually we did. We were about to turn around when we met some nice people who we thought were telling us we could make a loop by taking another trail down by the river. Turns out they just wanted to show us the river. We had been gone longer than intended and needed to get back to let Geoff in the house, so contemplated swimming / wading across the river to take an easy road on the other side. But... I had one of my SLR cameras in the bag and the river had risen a pile due to the rain they've had here. So we decided to turn around and head back. I hate out and backs but it was a beautiful day (about 26 I think?) and a great first little adventure!
