Out and back road run from my place. Don't love the road but it's definitely more achilles-friendly than the trails at the moment.

Really wanted to ride outside today and somehow convinced myself that the Puslinch trails would be rideable. Um, no. Double track was rutted ice and singletrack was covered in trees. Got less than a km before I bailed and went home to ride the trainer instead. Oh well.

Wasn't going to be able to make RPM tomorrow so checked out a Cycle II class instead. Lots and lots of seated climbs. Legs were jelly by the end!

Called gym - power was on; got there, power was off but yoga class was going to run anyway in the dark. As I was feeling my way to the bathroom in the dark, the power came on so yoga was saved!

Our power went off around 2 am and still isn't back on. Camped out at my brothers' for the night.

3rd annual Teaching Support Services Frosty 5K fun run organized by yours truly. This year we had only three other participants other than myself as many balked at the rainy weather yesterday. None of the three others were actually runners, no one trained, and one hadn't run in years, so it definitely goes down as the slowest in the three years that I've organized this, although I've ballparked the time. One fellow suffered greatly and I thought we may need to call him a cab partway through, but with a few walks breaks, he managed to keep going. I made everyone Certificates of Awesomeness and gave them prizes at the end. Very fun.

This was an emotional run around the block for me as the last two times I tried it (August and October) I had to turn around partway because my Achilles was too sore. It was cold and the road (3/4 dirt) conditions were crappy but I was so happy to have been able to do this. :)

Unreal / surreal trail run for my last day in Scotland in some crazy winds and pouring rain. Not quite sure where we were other than atop some hill in the country outside of Glasgow but scenery was unbelievable.

Amazing day of riding at Glentress Forest: http://www.glentressforest.com/ Definitely some of the best riding I've done in my life, and after a crazy wind storm that had me landing in Edinburgh instead of Glasgow the day before, was so happy that the weather cooperated for the ride.

Snowy beer mile at a track in Maryhill area of Glasgow. My friends organized this through their running club for my visit which was so thoughtful. Eight people turned up. Not my best beer mile by far as I chose a bad beer and had a hard time getting them down quickly, but I kept them all down and didn't have to do a consolation lap.

Awesome run in Phoenix Park. I was skeptical when my friend wanted to drop me off here for my run but I was happy to be proven wrong. In the heart of Dublin, it's Europe's largest urban park and I could have spent hours in there (I think it's about 1700-1800 acres and boasts the zoo and the President's house). Found tons of great singletrack and was regretting telling my friend to pick me up in 45 minutes. May try to go back tomorrow.

Up and down a "slieve" in Carlingford before breakfast. Sounds like I have gotten pretty lucky with the weather here so far. Running and hiking comfortably in shorts. Wish I'd had more time up here to explore, but breakfast ended at 10. As many know, I'm a big fan of the fried potato family, but I have definitely met my match in Ireland!
