Super short but even a bit of sweat made sitting in conference sessions all morning tolerable. Flight was cancelled but Universe was on my side and I was able to get on another one.

Had my first fall off a horse today in about 8-10 years when I could not convince a spooky black gelding that he really, truly could canter by the same judge's booth he's seen for the past ten years. He disagreed, and spun off to the right on me. Found out very quickly that I don't bounce as well as I did in my 20s. Really jerked my right hip flexor and am thinking I'll be feeling this tomorrow!

Me, Jillian and some kettlebells in the basement. I am almost ready to progress to the Level 2 workout, but won't do so until I can finish the jump squat sequence without crying! Damn you weak hip flexors.

Been really sick all week so decided sadly yesterday to pull the plug on the Toronto Rogaine, which I was really looking forward to doing with simpy and BiT. Having had two bouts of pneumonia in the past two years, I knew it wasn't a good decision to go, but all day I've been wishing I was out there with them!

Tried an am hot yoga class in the hopes of sweating my sickness out. Haven't been in ages and felt like it! Now that the weather is a bit more hit and miss, I will try to make it back here once a week.

Decided to try an easy afternoon run since it was so mild out. Felt okay while running but couldn't stop hacking once I got home. Ugh. At least this reassured me that not racing today was a good decision.

Today was one of those "do I really want to run mornings?" Within ten seconds of setting foot on the trail, I remember thinking to myself "I can't believe I almost stayed in bed." Perfect temperature.

As I do with each new academic term, I am struggling to find enough time in the day to work, teach, ride horses and fit some training in!

Tour of country roads around my house. Can't remember the last time I did a road run and boy did my knees agree by the end! Beautiful temperature and scenery.
