Trekking/Hiking 3:00:00 [3]

Popped down to Vermont for the weekend with Tim and we decided to climb Camel's Hump. We'd been up to the summit once before in February 2016 but it was so cold we couldn't really enjoy it. We approached it from the opposite side this time, going up the Burrows trail, with ambitious intentions of coming down the Long Trail to a hut for a lunch and beer stop and returning via the Forest City trail. There was plenty of traffic heading up the Burrows trail but on the way up we talked to some people who had been unable to find the Long Trail, which goes along a ridgeline, because of the deep snow and winds. It was hard to believe it was going to be that snowy up there but as we got closer and closer, we saw what they were talking about! The summit was super windy and it was all we could do to stay up there long enough to take a couple of photos. We resigned ourselves to returning via the same route, and now have a reason to return to that area to complete the rest of the route in better weather!
