Orienteering 1:58:25 [3] *** 16.94 km (6:59 / km) +605m 5:56 / km
29c shoes: Inov8 Oroc 340

Fatigued, both physically (daft after 10 days off running) and mentally (work must have taken more out of me last week than I thought). Spiked 1 but then made silly mistakes, was actually quite glad of the Orange-standard planning around the end as, although my running on paths by then was pretty shoddy, my fine nav would have been even worse. 27mins down on RichR, although Edgars Bertuks did 81.
This performance was at a similar standard to last year. I'm both pleased and annoyed at this - pleased as I can do this when knacked, but annoyed at the sloppiness of my nav/picking up map detail/thought processes considering my reduced speed. If anything it was good practise on a 1:15k for the first time since Creag Mhic, and a reminder of the brambly fayre of the Midlands.
Pleased to get in under 2 hours/7min/km, not so pleased to get Agmen'd/be at the wrong end of a pack!

Around and about Malvern on Mrs H's sit-up-and-beg. Harder work than expected, but didn't have to chase any control-pinching pikeys.
2 PM

Orienteering - Urban (Malvern Urban Race) 57:19 [4] *** 11.44 km (5:01 / km) +292m 4:27 / km
spiked:26/29c shoes: Adidas Kanadia TR3

Tired after marshalling and didn't know how the body would react. Knee felt OK, but I found it hard to get the legs turning over. Clean through the village and only missed 1 optimum choice after that I think.
Managed to lose 30secs on the finish which meant I got Pottered...
7mins down on Romuladis, 6 or so on Fellbaum and 5 on Alex. Would like to think that fresh I could have been in the mix with the later 2.

slept:7.0 shoes: Asics Afforest

2x(3jog1walk) then 6min jog back to the old folks home/dodgy Chinese takeaway.
Not quite the stress-buster needed after a blue-arsed day at work, but felt better for getting out. Could feel knee but not too bad at all. Will re-assess later tonight/tomorrow but no pain going up the stairs/doing leg squats on it immediately after.

had planned on going swimming after work, but didn't leave until 8. I won't be happy if this happens once it's light late.

I need to do this, 10mins a day minimum. Should have been doing it all through the winter, but now I have some space to do it in.

I did manage to do 15 of my super-low single-leg squats on my left leg with no grumbles from the knee.

Swimming 46:30 [2] 2.0 km (23:15 / km)
slept:7.5

40 Lengths 'non-stop' in the crush.
Then 34 lengths (40% crawl) in lanes before being turfed out for the final 6 as school lessons started.

Quite a bit of walking about during the day.

Day off work as phone man came round to connect us up. He was done and gone by 1pm, shame I couldn't head into the moors and make the most of a cracking day.
