Note

house moving. Schlepping up and down 2 flights of stairs and lifting boxes counts as x-training, right?

ARGH! RED LIGHT.

There's no hiding from it - knee hurts today, similar pain to the 'stabbing pain' from a few years back. Black Combe cancelled, Whitbarrow may go the same way and rest(/moving house) put in to replace it. It'll be a shame to miss out on a good tough race and some good tech training but all to often I'm not sensible (bit like last night), and there's BIG races coming up 3 weeks down the line. Whilst I'm already pissed off, I'll be even more pissed off if I miss those for being a tool.

11 hours at work today, then my lift had gone and I had no money for a bus. Hoping the long walk to the cashpoint aided the knee...

Note

Acid Test on Sunday at Whitbarrow - Becks Harding is on the Black startlist (along with a few others normally a few minutes ahead - Beech, Tim Street). Hoping for my sake there's some legs on the open moor - like all of them!

2 NightO events in 5 days - you paying attention SLUDO!
A bit of urban round the uni buildings, but mainly on the spur-and-gully stuff around the edge. A case of drop down to the path, run around and work your way into the control - although not many definitive APs on the paths.
A few iffy directions exiting controls, and took some ultra-cautious lines early on. Trotting around nicely until I put in a burst to drop a bunch of service guys trying to follow me. One big whoopsie leaving 19 - in the urban area FFS!
Duncan 41:40, Kris Smith 44? Peter B 50ish.

Could feel knee at times. It's manageable and isn't impacting on my running. Given what I've got over the next few weekends I'm going to cut back in the week before weekend warrioring it - don't want to miss out on the bits I enjy!

slept:7.5 (rest day)

It took until 3pm for someone to work out how to turn off the new heating system in the fermenter hall. I'd been in there all day doing nice manual tasks.

Easy this week until the weekend, then back on it (move excepted). Legs still feeling a bit tired. Knee better but should be after 2 days off.
