yeah ok not a good restart. not helped by calf, achilles and poor blistered foot still sore.
Looking for some extra motivation.

back to gym after a long break... easing into it. everything has gone weak. much rather be running but in need of the general strength and flexibility benefits.

not too hard with quads still suffering as well as various tight ligaments around the place

nice to finally be in the pool again. I could sense the pleasure in my legs and hips.

Note

around 10 days off all running for calf recovery and some real r&r.
Sad not to be doing STB but I'll get over it eventually. Pretty much went straight from Hastings to Auckland and then kept going north till we got to Cape Reianga!

Usual Home run; mixed on/off road and beach.
Easy run, no that would be a wrong description.. slow run.

Quads still quite sore, thought it may ease but never did. Calves also got tight and stretching didn't help. R achilles a bit dodge still :(
Was almost aqua jogging with a big swell smashing the coastline at high tide. Lovely and cool, but salty.

Quads very sore. Achilles tender.
In hindsight this really needed to be some sort of active recovery day.

Lucas Creek.
Nice quick run just under race pace. Didn't think I could manage this and felt reasonably good, apart from sore quads from yesterdays easy run.
Restrained stride from lengthening too much and kept turnover higher to hopefully avoid various tendon strains and the like after time off.

from home.. easy run but was a struggle after 1.5 weeks off pretty much any excercise worth noting.
R Calf seemed good now but there were some R achilles pains.
