Running 1:03:40 intensity: (7 @1) + (32 @2) + (4:37 @3) + (58:24 @4) 11.82 km (5:23 / km) +56m 5:16 / km

I grabbed an old street-O course that I designed and ran it on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. This weekend has not gone as planned, but I am working hard to complete that which must be done.

Bowling 6 [1]
shoes: Dexter Ricky II Bowling

Deplorable, catastrophic, humiliating.

Game 1: 63 8/ 6- 5- -9 63 7/ X 51 8- = 104
Game 2: 3/ 8- 3/ 8- 8/ X 33 X 45 9/7 = 139
Game 3: X 81 -5 9/ 8- 7- 9/ 62 9/ 8- = 116
Game 4: 7/ 34 17 8/ 54 X 6- -9 71 4/- = 101
Game 5: X 16 8- 72 9/ 71 X 7- 8- 81 = 107
Game 6: 6- 9- 9- 9- 33 X 8/ 81 72 6- = 101

The frames which best capture the fiasco today are the 2nd-4th frames of Game 6; I set up three consecutive 1-pin spare opportunities and missed all three. Three shots, each of which offered exactly one pin as a target, and I was unable to convert a single spare. Four times, in 62 opportunities, I threw a gutter ball on a full rack of ten pins.

Strike percentage: 8/62 = 12.9%
Spare conversion: 14/52 = 26.9%
First ball average: 6.60
One-pin spares: 5/8 = 62.5%

Biking 1:10:41 intensity: (4:13 @1) + (12:06 @2) + (18:53 @3) + (34:38 @4) + (51 @5) 25.8 km (21.9 kph)
ahr:149 max:178 shoes: Trek 7.1 FX

A brisk nighttime cruise around the Esplanade. There was a stiff wind from the east and a gentle drizzle.

Running 32:58 intensity: (2 @1) + (41 @2) + (2:49 @3) + (29:26 @4) 6.15 km (5:22 / km)
ahr:161 max:170 shoes: 201104 NB 759

I ran into work, which apparently was harder than I thought. My backpack was bouncing annoyingly, but the difficulty reflects my poor fitness. I bought two pairs of running shoes on Tuesday, and today I ran in the New Balance 759s first.

Running 42:00 [1] 7.37 km (5:42 / km)
shoes: 201002 Asics T918N

Easy run home from work, with a circuit of Fresh Pond. I listened to an episode of Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me from January. A light rain fell, the temperature was about 6 C, and I ran in running shorts and two short-sleeved shirts. I forgot my Garmin at home, so I had no sense of pace or time - I just ran at a comfortable pace.

Swimming 30:00 [2] 1.3 km (23:05 / km)

500m freestyle
100m kickboarding
500m freestyle
100m kickboarding
100m freestyle
Pool closed :(

I'm still sluggish, but I developed a rhythm in my second 500m freestyle that I thought I could sustain without pauses at each end of the 25m pool. I swam at the War Memorial Pool. My left leg felt a little weird, but I think that's to be expected given that the pressures I'm applying are unusual (normal to the bone rather than parallel to it).
