Running race 20:22 [4] 1.27 mi (16:02 / mi) +291m 9:22 / mi

Grasmere guides race. Went for food at the copper pot at about 2:45, so was still sat a bit heavy!

Set off and after deciding I was fixed yesterday, was pretty much last by the time we'd crossed the road. Maybe I can't fell race anymore....

Then we started climbing and I started passing people. Pushed properly into the red for the first time this year and didn't blow, got to the top in 6th it transpires, as I passed Jenny on the way down and finished 5th, becoming a proper professional with my envelope containing £50!

Ran hard to the finish thinking Jenny was on my shoulder, turns out it was Wil who'd overtaken 6 people in the last field with his ridiculous descending!

Ride to wheelbase to get brake pads then to sizergh for cake. Pushing it to get there in time to meet ben and sabs so pushing along. First time this year my lung has agreed with such a thing!

Nant peris to Glyder Fawr, pen y pass, crib goch by which time the heavens had opened. An exciting scramble with water being picked up from one side and dumped on us occassionally....
Then back down to the valley.

Met some concerned walkers backing off crib goch who suggested strongly we should too....in hindsight maybe I did look like I was an ultra runner without a clue, with my hoka style shoes and race vest ha! Slow going but good fun!
