Bear Brook SP - Boulder Dash Green X Course Day 2. As expected, this was much tougher than yesterday. Going in, I was almost as much afraid of the maze of rough open tendrils as I was of all the rock detail. I managed to get to #1 with no problem. The wheels really came of on #2 though. Headed into the rough open and could not make out the intersections to count them off. Circled for quite a while, ended up at the trail north of the control and still couldn't figure things out. Finally had to go back to the little stream crossing the rough open and re-attack from there. 15 minutes lost. Ouch!

After that, I was pretty clean but slow. As bad as this was, other people had even bigger problems. Clint Morse had a great run and passed me in the standings. I managed a 2nd place finish but didn't feel like I deserved it given the magnitude of my error.

Still a great weekend. Championship caliber terrain, courses and organization. Thanks to UNO for everything!

Bear Brook SP - Boulder Dash Green X course. Loved the terrain, loved the course. I was very methodical but the runnability was surprisingly good over much of the course. One problem on #6 (which should not have been a difficult control) where I lost a couple minutes trying to figure things out. Tomorrow looks to be a whole lot tougher.

Volleyball 2:00:00 [1]

Great games again this week. All very close, we split ~50-50. Biggest turnout in a long time - I think we had 15 people. Finished with a game of 4 on 4. No misses on serve (1st time this season), setting still a bit lackluster.

Road Run 22:57 [3] 3.0 mi (7:39 / mi)

Haven't been able to squeeze in a run all week so strapped on my headlamp and ran the parking lots and practice fields around Gunning Bedford Middle School after finishing v-ball.
