In the morning, I drove out to Kings Gap to help with the beginners' program we do for the park. (And possibly end up teaching if Mike W got called in to work.) In an unprecedented display of patheticness, a grand total of three (yes, 3) people showed up. Not sure if the park advertised differently or what. In the past we've varied from 30 or so people up to over 150 (once they didn't all fit in the room and we had to do a second program in the lobby.) We had more helpers than students. So a big waste of my time and driving all over the state.
Anyway, after that, picked up a friend and went hoofing it around Longwood Gardens all late afternoon/evening, including a hike through the new meadow area. Just counting an hour. Then, after dark, around some of the same areas again for Nightscape light and sound show. It was mysteriously, magically, wonderfully trippy.
Unfortunately, I probably re-ingested any calories burned at their new beer garden. Had two types of beer, pulled pork, and later a big braided pretzel with cheese and mustard.
Had to drop my friend back off at her house, then drive home again from there, so didn't get to bed until very late.
