I've been here before and knew this would be physically difficult. My strategy was to stay high or stay low as much as possible and avoid climb when I could. This meant more distance going on trails or following streams around the steep hillsides.
The first 3 controls went fine with this strategy, but something I'm still unsure of went wrong on the way to 4. I think it was probably a parallel error. Everything seemed okay until I came upon a trail junction with a control where there shouldn't be one. Continued West on that trail trying to relocate, but ended up going all the way out to the road. Then I was so far South that I still had trouble placing myself. Eventually figured it out, but had to walk a decent way on the road.
After this I really felt tired and wanted to stop, but saw that things got flatter ahead and there were a few easy controls next plus a few more easy ones at the end. So I slogged through the rest of it somehow. Definitely not an inspired effort.
