Road Run warm up/down 23:12 [2]
slept:7.0 shoes: Adidas a3 Prowl

Warm-up run out towards the reservoir for a tempo run. Hamstring feeling fine after a day of rest. Legs feeling great.

Road Run 24:00 [4] 3.9 mi (6:09 / mi)
shoes: Adidas a3 Prowl

Did a 12-minute out-and-back tempo run by the reservoir. Did the first half at an easy pace and then picked it up on the way back. Got back to the start at 22:06, and continued a ways up a hill just past it. It was uphill on the way out and downhill back, so that helped, but we definitely ran a lot faster on the way back. Legs were just feeling awesome today.

Road Run warm up/down (Cool-Down) 22:47 [3] 3.2 mi (7:07 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Adidas a3 Prowl

We ran a decent pace cool-down back to school. My hamstring started to feel tight again during the cool-down so I guess it isn't fully healed yet. Tomorrow is another day off so I'll have to see how it is on Wednesday. I'm not going to risk it right before our division champs though. This week is a taper week anyway, so I'd rather get extra rest than risk making my hamstring worse.

It was nice to be feeling strong again today though. It was the first time since the Highlander, so maybe I am finally recovered.

Event: Sebago Lake

Note
slept:12.0 (injured)

Hamstring was feeling much better today, but I decided to take the day off just in case to make sure that I can do some speed work tomorrow. It's been over a week since I've done any speed work (since before the Highlander) and I think that that is probably more important than any more long easy runs at the moment.

Road Run warm up/down 11:32 [1] 1.55 mi (7:27 / mi)
slept:6.0 (injured) shoes: Adidas a3 Prowl

First Saturday morning practice all season since we have had races every Saturday so far. Ran down to Elm park for a workout. Left hamstring was still feeling very tight.

Trail Run intervals 2:55 [3] 0.5 mi (5:50 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Adidas a3 Prowl

Ran one 800m with the team, but couldn't push it without feeling like I was going to pull my hamstring. I can get by running easy since I don't have to lift my leg high, but as soon as I have to lift my leg it feels like it's going to go. Decided to play it safe and not do the rest of the workout.

Road Run 9:05 [1] 1.2 mi (7:34 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Adidas a3 Prowl

Jogged back to school slowly with Mike and Erin. They had stopped by to talk to my coach and watch our practice after staying over last night. Imagine our school Orienteering team if they come to Clark!

Road Run (Easy) 25:41 [1] 3.43 mi (7:29 / mi)
slept:7.0 (injured) shoes: Adidas a3 Prowl

Short easy run with the team today. My left hamstring still felt really tight and almost like it was on the verge of being pulled. I took it really easy and made it through all right, but I am going to have to be extra careful the next couple days. I'll try heat and ice too if I can.

Road Run long 1:09:37 [3] 10.1 mi (6:54 / mi)
slept:12.0 shoes: Adidas a3 Prowl

Did a long drop-off run with T-Mac. Coach dropped us off just past Ana-Maria College and we ran back to the Kneller (here is the route drawn backwards). Legs feeling much better today but still tight. My left hamstring started hurting me towards the end of the run because it was too tight. I'll have to stretch well tonight and maybe even ice that hamstring if I can.

Road Run warm up/down (Warm-Up) 17:08 [1] 2.2 mi (7:47 / mi)
slept:8.0 shoes: Adidas a3 Prowl

Took my car into the shop to get it fixed and took forever getting home and ended up missing practice. So I decided to go with Sophie to the barn and run in the woods there. This was just a quick easy warm-up out to a nice hill in the woods to do some hill intervals. My legs were feeling quite tired though so I took it pretty easy.

Interval Training hills 53 [5]
shoes: Adidas a3 Prowl

Ran 1 hill interval and realized that my legs were not ready to be doing a workout yet. They felt like lead and I just couldn't get up that hill. Decided to go for another easy run instead.

Road Run long 39:42 [1] 5.0 mi (7:56 / mi)
shoes: Adidas a3 Prowl

Well I thought an easy run would be easy, but I guess this just wasn't my day. I kept noticing that I was running extremely slow and so would pick it up to a higher pace without a problem, but a minute later I would find myself back at that slow pace. It was just like my brain was too tired to keep track of how fast I was going and I didn't have the energy to stay at a higher pace. Hopefully this was just one of those days, and with some good rest I'll be feeling better tomorrow.
