Orienteering 58:46 [4] 8.2 km (7:10 / km) +370m 5:51 / km
ahr:177 max:183

DVOA - Day 1, Red course. Greg said don't run fast! I said I won't, especially with my bad knee. I can't really say that I completely followed his advise but I never really felt like I was pushing it as I know I can.

The course was really simple and I would even say too easy, though given the nature of terrain, it is quite a challenge to set anything other than such course. However, I felt like there could be more legs with more route choices than just legs with obvious routes. Only #9 had an interesting choice.

It was also a physical couse with 370m of climb and I felt it at the very end after #19 where I started losing my focus and began making little mistakes, like not following my compass. Still, I was happy with my run and decided not to run on Sun as my knee wasn't very happy after the race.

Cross-training 15:00 [3]

Some stretching + iceing of my left knee, I think it hurts more from riding than actual running.

Orienteering 1:01:30 [4] 8.4 km (7:19 / km) +300m 6:13 / km

Pig Day3. Felt much better after getting decent amount of sleep. Balter said he was putting on his fast shoes and that the end my streak of beating him is long overdue. I said I will lose to him first 2 splits as those would be my warm-up legs.
Upon getting to the start I got BLUE map and totally forgot that I was running RED. After stepping off and starting down hill, I openned the entire map just to get a look at the course and it hit me that that nasty looking 12.4K was an overkill, so I ran back to the start to grab the RED map (40sec).
It was actually a good race for me with exeption of # 9 where map was off and I left 2.5 min checking the area. Ankle held up and i was happy to finish in decent time.

Orienteering 21:24 [3] 2.4 km (8:55 / km)

Pig Day2 Sprint2. I was still dead from the ride (16h) and wasn't feeling like running 2 sprints. So I went out on the second one just to get the feeling of a map and a compass in my hands.

Orienteering race 1:11:30 [4] 8.9 km (8:02 / km) +400m 6:34 / km

VGIII, I would rather omit the V as it was just an ordinary Goat event with 400m of climb for me. Still a rather an ok race, managed to hang around with the lead pack for the first loop and then continued on my own to the 2nd loop skipping the 3rd for longer version. I am definitly not ready to race, and felt it as soon as we hit some climb where we all were reduced to walking up the steep hill. My whole body feels shot as of now, will see if my achilles recovers enough for the PIG. I may concider downgrading from Blue on Fri to something less hilly.

Orienteering 49:00 [3] 5.5 km (8:55 / km)

With K in Saxson Woods. Nice woods, perhaps the closest in resembling Scandinavian terrain + the mapper was from Findland as well. I would say a perfect spot to train for Jukola.
Was surprisingly clean, well woods were really open and I ran really slow to be fair. Still a good practice.
