Biking 40:00 [3] 10.0 km (4:00 / km)

Biked to Rockaway Beach, spent some time there whatching the waives while stretching and back, a much needed break between my study sessions.

Note

Today is the first day when my ankle feels more or less better then any other day after the Boulder Dash, the plan is still the same, rest till December and then take it from there.

Weights 50:00 [3]

Some execises with light weighs.

Cross-training 15:00 [3]

bunch of strenght things on my r/ankle.

Note

I made some research on my condition and am happy to learn that i don't really have an issue with my achilles tendon. I previously doubted that I had anything wrong with it, but persitent pain in the area made me think otherwise. However, after speaking with a girl (a physician to be) who also helped me 2 years ago when i broke the same ankle, she said that I most likely have a "floating bone, Os Trigonum Syndrome" and that it would take about 4-6 weeks to get better if I give it enough rest and then gradually return to normal activities. I hope she is right.

Weights 50:00 [3]

Some strenght exercises + work with my r/ankle.

Note

After considering my physical shape/condition, which hasn't been great in the past month or so, i decided not to run the Long Champs due to my nagging achilles/ankle injury. I believe it will allow me more time to deal with this problem without the chance of making it worse. I am not completely sure how I came about to be injured, but knowing the nature of most of my previous injuries I am not really trying to understand why is that.
I plan to gradually return to running in about a month or so, given the pain completely goes away, and start building a much needed base for the upcoming 2006 season. I hope to start the year without any physical limitations (knock on wood) and accomplish few things here and there...

Orienteering race 59:00 [4] 6.0 km (9:50 / km) +300m 7:52 / km
(injured)

BD Day 2. Had a decent start but botched # 6 pretty badly. Then totally screwed #11 and after attacking it for quite a few times from all angles I simply gave up. I eventually found it, just to be sure that I wasn't completely silly on that day, but then on the way back in the car Greg found the "reason" for my screw-up. The circle covered too many important details around the control in already tricky area, and that's why I couldn't make sense of some of depressions around there, which I simply coulnd't locate on the map. Any way, I think I would've gone on with the race, but my achilles already cooled off and started bothering me rather unpleasantly, so I decided simply walk to the finish. Still very unhappy with my orienteering today, and need to analyse a few things for the future.

Event: Boulder Dash

Orienteering race 1:17:20 [4] 9.0 km (8:36 / km) +370m 7:08 / km
ahr:174 max:191

BD Day 1, Rainy and slippery, quite warm and soaky tho not so bad once u got wet. Had about 4 min of mistakes in total, no major ones simply didn't execute all 100% at times by being just impatient and allowing for small technical blunders in the control area, a good run otherwise.
