Orienteering
(injured) (sick)

Went through a surgery today to remove a root in my right jaw. The bill? Don't ask. Spent all day iceing and taking pain killers, which is sucks! Don't know if I will be able to run this Sun Manh. Half-Marathon. Hurtsssss.

Orienteering 1:10:00 [2] 7.5 km (9:20 / km)

Designed a course and did some training in Harriman today. Though the temperature was ok, humidity was unbearable. Ended up walking a lot simply enjoying some views. I think I am tired......

Saturday Jul 26, 2003 #

Running 22:30 [3] 5.0 km (4:30 / km)

Decided to go for an easy run today. Humidity is gross at this time, not much fun doing any activity at all, yakkkkk.

Thursday Jul 24, 2003 #

Running 1:05:32 [3] 14.5 km (4:31 / km)

Decided to go for a long run today as a preparation for upcoming Manhattan Half-Marathon on Aug 3.

Tuesday Jul 22, 2003 #

Running 22:00 [3] 5.0 km (4:24 / km)

Warm up on PP loop

Running 5:30 [5] 1.5 km (3:40 / km)

Hill intervals 5x300m. What a difference it makes to run in astonishingly severe tunderstorm. My sight got limited to about 10 feet in front of me. Though it did beat some heat down and also cooled me off a bit as well.

Sunday Jul 20, 2003 #

Running 1:31:52 [4] 12.3 km (7:28 / km)

DVOA Long Champs in French Creek West. Tried to adopt a new technique for the compass. Decided to hold it in my left hand and keep the map in the right. It worked for a while then it went wrong for a while and then I switched it back. I think I will eventually adopt. As for the course: there was a lot of green stuff and some climb but it wasn't much of fun because of the the way the course was organized. Few if any route choices, plus one really unnecessarly bag on the other side of the lake (17 min of pure running) and it was hot.

Thursday Jul 17, 2003 #

Running 41:00 [4] 11.0 km (3:44 / km)

Run 8x4min treshhold intervals with 1 min easy jogging in between. Ended up doing to PP loops. Felt somewhat better than on Tue. I guess 3 training sessions per week allows me to recover better rather than having 4, considering my workload that I do during the week.

Tuesday Jul 15, 2003 #

Running 30:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)

Includes warm up 1 PP lap and running bet intervals.

Running 10:00 [4] 1.7 km (5:53 / km)

5x350m hill intervals. Hmmmmm... didn't feel as bad as I thought I would after the Goat.

Sunday Jul 13, 2003 #

Running 2:26:00 [3] 18.0 km (8:07 / km)

The DVOA Hickory Goat. I can't say it was too competitive although Mihai kept the competition till the bag #8 and then had disappeared in the woods in the wrong direction. Kept my pace down a bit cause the terrain is crappy and in some places really unpleasant but I managed to get around of most of the green exept for the forked control where the trail had probably disappeared 10 years ago and I ended up doing the last year Rogain thing, crawling though the green fo 20 min or so ( on the 15 min I got so desperate that wanted just to lay there on that bush and just pretend I wasn't there), at the end missed another sneaky bag and had to reattack it prom a remote feature. Luckily I made it back with no injuries though lots of scratches, dog tired but FIRST !!! Yaea one hell of a Goat.

Thursday Jul 10, 2003 #

Running 22:30 [3] 5.0 km (4:30 / km)

A loop in PP. Felt a bit better today, still don't know what caused this stiffness that I've been experiencing for the whole week.

Running 10:00 [4] 0.5 km (20:00 / km)

5/100m strides, these felt ok as my muscles got worm.

Tuesday Jul 8, 2003 #

Running 24:00 [3] 5.0 km (4:48 / km)

Run a loop in PP. Legs got heavy from the start, barely made it home today, don't really know what happened to them.

Sunday Jul 6, 2003 #

Running 1:05:07 [3] 10.0 mi (6:31 / mi)

It was a good idea to rest for 3 days, as a result I felt quite good during my long run today. Did 3 loops in PP on trails.

Wednesday Jul 2, 2003 #

Running 22:00 [3] 5.0 km (4:24 / km)

A loop in PP. Still can't feel my legs, as such I'll rest this week by skiping all planed speed work.

Tuesday Jul 1, 2003 #

Running 24:00 [3] 5.5 km (4:22 / km)

Decided to skip intervals and have it easy as my legs didn't quite recovered yet from past weekend.

Running 15:00 [4] 0.8 km (18:45 / km)

2x4x100m strides afterwards + stretching.
