Orienteering 1:37:05 [4] 12.8 km (7:35 / km) +280m 6:50 / km

NAOC-Long-M21 This was a bit cleaner race for me than yesterday, though I still managed to botch a few bags. The mistake on #24 was the most obvious and the most unnecessary one as I was rushing to get 'home' already. On the way to #4 I found myself in the marsh and saw only more marsh ahead of me, so had to bail out and luckily found myself near the bag. I think I should've used the road on the way to #14, which now looks like a much faster route to me. Overall not a bad race afterall. My knee held up ok as I wasn't really agressive in the woods but still tried to keep a reasonable pace. Kind of strange that this was my first NAOC meet, hopefully, I am in better shape when the next one rolls around.

Additional Note: I think I may now know why I missed #24 far to the right, #23 seemed to be misplaced, or so the rumor goes. It is kind of vierd because I didn't notice anything unusual from the angle that I attacked #23. Perhaps there are some mapping issues in there.

Orienteering 47:29 [4] 6.3 km (7:32 / km) +150m 6:44 / km

NAOC - Middle - M21 It was an ok run for me, not particularly fast and somewhat sloppy. Eric started just 2 min behind me, but I didn't see him and only remembered about it when I saw him finishing shotly after me. I really enjoyed the woods and only whish that I was cleaner. I wasn't focused enough in certain spots and a few times I didn't even have a particular route choice (not good). R-knee felt ok as I wasn't in particular pushy with it in the woods.

Orienteering race 55:18 [3] 7.4 km (7:28 / km) +220m 6:30 / km

Red course in HR at DVOA Training Camp. This was a surprisingly hot day so I bailed out of the blue course at the registration, plus I learned that most people would be running the red course anyway. The plan was to go out and see how my R-knee would feel after resting it for some time and focus on the map reading. I can say that this was probably the cleanest race I've ran in a long long time. The fact that I wasn't pushing it helped me to keep my focus on the map and my compass at almost all the times. The knee mostly held up and only began to really hurt near the end. It feels somewhat stiff and very sore today after having it wrapped up in the ice after I came home. Hopefully it would feel better in two weeks.

Running 25:00 [3] 4.5 km (5:33 / km)

Really easy run to MB and back. R-knee still doesn't feel right, may need to rest it even more.
