Monday Apr 26, 2004 #

Swimming 45:00 [3] 1.5 km (30:00 / km)

I was falling asleep during classes as I didn't get enough sleep over past three days, but decided to go anyway. I fell asleep on the train though ;)

Swimming 50:00 [3] 1.5 km (33:20 / km)

Well... first swimming session and definitely not the last one. Felt great, intensity was kind of hight at times as I am more of a power swimmer than someone with a smooth technique accoding to the school's coach ( happen to get there during teams traning, saw cute girls with shoulders about my size though:) Only now began to feel the soreness in my whole body, and that is good, this will help me to maintain my fitness level by the time I start running again.

Cross-training 1:30:00 [3]

Some work with light weightes and crunches...

Monday Apr 19, 2004 #

Cross-training 30:00 [1] 1.5 mi (20:00 / mi)

Walked on treadmill reading s book.

Comment.

Got myself an access to the pool. Will start swiming perhaps 2 time a week to keep my cardiovascular in shape.

Orienteering 1:16:29 [2] 7.7 km (9:56 / km)

Jogged the Red Course at HVO Silvermine event. Managed to beat Joe, Boris swept the field with 60 min. Not sure if I needed to go into woods yet, as my knees hurt now. But, I think finally I know what my problem is, funny though, it is similar to the problem that I had with my sprainded ankle, yeap, spained knees, generally speaking. So I plan to keep my running activity down to 1 or 2 intensity level till the pain goes away. Perhaps all summer if needed. May be will bike easily and start swiming. Got to rest them first though.

Running 30:00 [2] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Easy jog on treadmill. Felt kind of tired today, perhaps not enough sleep with all those midterm exams.

Wednesday Apr 14, 2004 #

Running 15:00 [1] 1.0 mi (15:00 / mi)

Really easy jog on the treadmill. I would say my knees feel "different" now, i.e. a bit better.

Running 1:00:00 [1] 10.0 km (6:00 / km)
(injured)

Again Greg and me all dressed up in underarmor stuff (feeling cool) but definitely not healthy tried to jog some trails in Forest Park. Left knee felt a bit better, right was really out of order. Will continue resting and hope for quicker recovery.

Running 1:15:00 [1] 10.0 km (7:30 / km)
(injured)

Was kind of funny to see two injured guys (ourselves: Greg and me) trying make some sort of running on the trackfield. Knee still hurts a lot :((

Cross-training 30:30 [1] 1.0 mi (30:30 / mi)
(injured)

Walking/Crawling on the treadmill, in attempt to figure out what went wrong in CT.

Thursday Apr 8, 2004 #

Weights 1:25:00 [3]
(injured)

Did some light weight training for back, shoulders, and abs.

Wednesday Apr 7, 2004 #

Note 1 [1]
(injured)

And so I can't run again :( It appear that I've somehow overstressed my knees ( even by not running at full strenght) and now must rest them, perhaps this time till the pain goes completely away, if I want to stay healthy. Frustrating? yea...but I still have to solve what in the world went wrong in CT.

Monday Apr 5, 2004 #

Weights 1:25:00 [2]

Light work with weightes. Surprisingly no sore muscles today, though my knees definitely need some rest.

Orienteering 53:48 [4] 8.5 km (6:20 / km)

WCOC A-Meet Day 2. Absolutely lovely course set by Gari. I was a bit sleepy in the morning so I decided that I would start slowly (lazily) and then see what happens. Right before the start Gari mentioned that the woods are very fast, and I thought that it least what I needed, as I was still half a sleep. So, right off the start I got myself into a comfortable pace ( a bit slower then I usually run O races) which I hoped to keep till the end of the race, thus thinking that, I would end up doing less mistakes. Though I just couldn't help myself but to run faster after 15 control, that was just so much fun. Those short legs weren't difficult, simply fun. Overall, I did end up doing less mistakes than others, and I think my strategy paid off.
