Orienteering 1:43:00 [3] 12.7 km (8:07 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X talon

Disaster day. Where to start??? Awful from 1st control. A few decent miniscule parts to the run but on the whole, just plain awful. Not sure what was going on, but whatever could go wrong did, whenever there was a stupid option to take - I was on it, whenever I got back in control I was suddenly out of control again. Need to get brain working.

Run warm up/down 15:00 [3] 2.0 km (7:30 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X talon

Warm up - a first for everything, so did a warm down as well!

Orienteering 15:32 [3] 2.6 km (5:58 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X talon

An OK run, good result but could have been even better with a few small errors and laziness eliminated... frustrating.
Started slow but reading well, thought I was a bit off going to 2 and corrected when I shouldn't have. Slow up the hill to 4, and then lost a bit going to 5. Nearly fell into the trap of running straight down the hill to 6 but caught myself. Saw Susanne coming into 6 behind me so tried a bit harder. Got 7-8-9 well but stopped for detour via another control to 10. Then wrong exit from 10 and 11 let Susanne in front. Sept the rest of the time chasing her but without gusto. Wish I had.

Orienteering (Autumn Series) 33:00 [3] 5.1 km (6:28 / km) +80m 6:00 / km
shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 14

Just did this for a bit of fun and it mostly was. Extended my planned route after Eoin got back in 17 minutes, this meant I ran the opposite way than originally intended. Got a bit frustrated trying to find 28 (its like the twilight zone under the freeway for me) and then was having trouble finding the track near 13, made harder by being chased around by 2 exuberant and obese border collies. Eventually gave up and went another circuitous route just to avoid them. That left me down in the depths of a rainforest valley in the real twilight, only able to read the map in rare open spots and barely able to see the ground sometimes. Not a good move 2 days before easter on a dodgy ankle... Anyway I took it very steady and really enjoyed running these tracks so glad I did, even though I only got an extra 60 points (20%) for double Eoin's time.

Yoga 1:00:00 [3]

A bit of everything day today - mainly core. All the "older" ladies spent the first half talking about how decrepit they are whilst making furtive, accusing looks at me for not joining in the decrepit-fest. Then we did stomach stuff and they all started to look VERY smug, very quickly after witnessing my performance there.

Note

Skipping hills - too tired from the weekend, still.
