Orienteering (Autumn Series) 33:00 [3] 5.1 km (6:28 / km) +80m 6:00 / km
shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 14

Just did this for a bit of fun and it mostly was. Extended my planned route after Eoin got back in 17 minutes, this meant I ran the opposite way than originally intended. Got a bit frustrated trying to find 28 (its like the twilight zone under the freeway for me) and then was having trouble finding the track near 13, made harder by being chased around by 2 exuberant and obese border collies. Eventually gave up and went another circuitous route just to avoid them. That left me down in the depths of a rainforest valley in the real twilight, only able to read the map in rare open spots and barely able to see the ground sometimes. Not a good move 2 days before easter on a dodgy ankle... Anyway I took it very steady and really enjoyed running these tracks so glad I did, even though I only got an extra 60 points (20%) for double Eoin's time.

Yoga 1:00:00 [3]

A bit of everything day today - mainly core. All the "older" ladies spent the first half talking about how decrepit they are whilst making furtive, accusing looks at me for not joining in the decrepit-fest. Then we did stomach stuff and they all started to look VERY smug, very quickly after witnessing my performance there.

Note

Skipping hills - too tired from the weekend, still.

Orienteering 59:00 [3] 5.6 km (10:32 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X talon

I was going to say this takes the cake out of all my recent shockers, but maybe it wasn't quite THAT bad. Started in a positive mind-set but was wonky all the way to the 4th control. Not able to feel at all comfortable with the map, but finding the controls OK. Then there was no way I could concentrate enough to get 5. Seeing as I was relegated from the Metroleague team I decided to not bother hunting for it and continued on to 6. Managed to find the river and guess where I had been. Made it as far as 10 and decided that I really need some recovery time so went straight home from there...

Run (Splishy Splashy Sploshy) 1:35:00 [3] 13.5 km (7:02 / km) +250m 6:26 / km
shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 14

A very wet day out. I'm glad I'd arranged to meet Tracy at 10 as my original plan of running alone at 7 would not have happened. It was not raining when we set out and most of the time, but a few heavy showers came through. The ground was essentially just running water most of the way. The rest was pooling water. Went in up to my ankles to cross piddly little Blue Gum Creek. One part of Fairylands looked like a lake. Quite a few of the creek crossings were a bit hairy with slippery rocks submerged. Quite a few nice waterfalls along the way.

Went down Bluegum, across golf course to meet Tracy & Anthea, up along the tracks past the Shinglers to Mowbray, across and down a few parks, abandoned the tracks coming down as it was too wet, out to Epping Rd and back along the north side of Fairylands then home.
