Orienteering 13:17 [3] 2.3 km (5:47 / km)
shoes: DS Racer

Big Foot Sprints - first race. Oh so slow! A couple of small mistakes: fell asleep on the way to 2 so ran a bit further than necessary, couldn't make out a clean way to 4 so went back past 2 (clean but longer), then a wobble going to 5 (again not a mistake but extra distance), was very careful at 10 (site of the infamous mp last year), lost a bit racing Eoin to 11. Unfitness showing and not aided but running further than necessary...

Orienteering 13:01 [3] 2.2 km (5:55 / km)
shoes: DS Racer

Big Foot Sprints - second race. A slightly better race but this time some mistakes. Almost overshot 1 and people starting behind caught me here. Didn't keep up with myself going to 4 so overshot a bit and a few people overtook. Lost a couple of places at 6 as I went around the garden, 8 lost a bit more going around and not punching through the hedge, 9 got the good route choice & got back in front but lost a bit of time again on 10 and 11. A bit more lost on wrong choice to 17. Got to feel holier than thou and enjoyed beating the guy I saw break OOB 4 times in the course of the day :) The thought of beating him made me run to my limit.

A great race concept and so much fun to run a sprint race the right length!

Orienteering 10:00 [3] 1.5 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: DS Racer

Warm up and control collecting. A good lock system for SI units.

Note

Very pleased to get a full week of training after 8 weeks off!
Legs are tired now.

Run 30:00 [3] 5.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Saucony Omni

Set out today aiming for a lot better than this... started from the swimming pool in West Pymble and had planned a nice loop that should have been >1hr. Twisted ankle in first 10 minutes instead. Kept going thinking it would settle itself down, but it didn't. I was able to run after about 20 minutes of walking - but only on nice smooth flat bits. The GNW north of Ryde Rd was good - looking forward to doing more of it properly soon. Flowers quite pretty again today.

Swim 20:00 [2] 0.7 km (28:34 / km)

Added to the pathetic run with some pathetic swimming. Didn't make the 1km but its my first swim for ages and I was only allowed to do freestyle. Shoulder got very tired. Hopefully its just yesterday's work-out.

PS - too stingy to fork out 20c for a shower afterwards.

Orienteering 54:00 [3] 8.4 km (6:26 / km)
shoes: Saucony Omni

Took the scenic route which was far from optimum but nice to run, a bit treacherous in places. Making a habit of being late - 9 minutes (90 points) this week for a total of 310. Things are getting worse and worse...

Will take a look at GPS to see if getting the last few actually paid off.

Very unfit. Superb flannel flowers. Head bad again, felt faint coming up hill.
