Orienteering 25:16 [3] 4.3 km (5:53 / km)
shoes: DS Racer

This was hot - 37 according to the car (which is most certainly a calibrated measure). Did not dress appropriately for the occasion and was somewhat surprised when standing on the start line James commented that this would be a good introduction to Sydney sandstone for me - "what, isn't this a uni campus????" was my response ...
Twisted right ankle, then slid on my bottom to the bottom of a slope, then ripped my legs to shreds (walking as my ankle stopped me running) going from 3 to 4. Apart from 4 (part brain fail, part unlucky) was reasonably OK but a bit of a slog. Lost time in the circles on 6 and 9, took the wrong option 10-11. Had some smart-arse stop to ask me how to get to the harbour bridge on the way to 8. Luckily I'm from out of town so could say "No idea mate" and continue on my way without too much delay.
Eoin bet me on EVERY leg tonight.

Run warm up/down 5:00 [3]
shoes: DS Racer

Did attempt a warm up but no way did I consider warming down, could barely breathe walking.
Throat absolutely fried after the last few days but my nose is clear for the first time since the door incident after yesterday on the bike.

MTBO 1:08:00 [3] 11.4 km (10.1 kph)
shoes: Sidi MTB

Route choice is not my forte and score events are just one massive route choice problem so today was rather embarrassing. Need a bit of practice riding my bike too as I was a bit of a woos going up and down hills. Very nice not to worry about pea gravel or slippery logs though so I did enjoy myself.

Orienteering 1:30:00 [3] 13.5 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Kayano 16 Purple

The (not-quite for me) Super Long World Champs - struggled today but had a lot of fun - didn't do a great deal of map reading except when I was so far behind I couldn't see anyone. Did less than a 1/3 of the controls - hate to think how tough it will be getting to the finish, especially after a McDonalds stop. Cut out 22-31 as that looked too steep for the likes of me, pulled out at 50 out of 150 controls.
Thanks to Eoin who had half a snow cone waiting for me at the end - needed it - Aoife wouldn't share the other one.
This run was shorter and slower than last week's but felt a lot harder. I've decided I'm not that bad at hills, but cannot handle steps.

Orienteering 39:00 [3] 6.8 km (5:44 / km)
ahr:150 max:171 shoes: Kayano 16 Purple

Summer Series at Glebe - much better terrain for the pram today & I was smart enough to check the map beforehand so I only got caught out by a couple of sets of stairs & Eoin helped at the worst of those. Had some trouble crossing roads, dodging pedestrians was hard work. Pretty good fun except that I was 30 sec late (couldn't get pram through a low fence) and in the rush I forgot the code of a 30pt control that I didn't write down straight away - need to polish up on that technique - so lost 40 on an already low score.
Aoife pretty disappointed as we ran past about 20 playgrounds that she wanted to get out for - chasing Daddy cheered her up until I realised I'd run past a control doing that and so we turned back - not happy Mummy!
Max heart rate trying to make the finish :(
