Orienteering 41:09 [3]

Kenine Hill - Day 1 of Autumn Classic. Enjoyed the course and did OK apart from a 5 minute time loss at #6. Came off the top of the hill a little higher than intended (but was aware of this). Then failed to correct, so spent a bit of time working myself out. Seems a lot of people were a bit tricked in that area, but once I found my attack point the control was easy so I think it was us rather than the map. #7 was certainly a bit strange, but found it fine.
Very lucky to get away with an 18s lead over Rachel and lead the course until 36 minutes later when Eoin finished...

With Kim. Had to take a few walks when my ankle got too sore.
Another voltaren this morning.

Aoife now shouts "run, run, run" when we are going too slow...

MTBO race 1:39:25 [3] 24.66 km (14.9 kph)
shoes: Sidi MTB

Went the world's stupidest way to number one, including a sightseeing tour of the top of Turner Hill just to add to the time. After that not too bad but ran out of steam when I hit 90min. A bit embarrassing to have Ricky do a faster time on the Long course (I did medium)!
Great to see the improvements to the map since 2006. Obviously the fire has done wonders for finding tracks that our original gardening efforts couldn't uncover. Some parts even look vaguely runnable.
Ankle really sore - much worse than walking.

MTB 30:00 [3] 5.8 km (11.6 kph)
shoes: Sidi MTB

Took Aoife for a spin in the Cougar. She dozed off for the slog up hill but the bumps on the way down woke her up. On the plus side she wore her helmet the whole way - a first!
