Running 57:00 [3]

Ran from my place of work with Palmer, up and across the AT, down teh other side to Bragg Hill rd and BACK! Quite a hill workout! Didn't feel so hot at the time, but much better now that's it's done! Legs feel good after this weekend, despite the bumps and bruises!

Core strength 1:00 [0]

10 pushups...we're going to make this is a post-run standard. maybe after a few weeks 10 will seem easy and we could bump it up to ... hmm... 12? ;)

Event: Billygoat

Orienteering (Billygoat) 2:13:00 [3] 10.7 km (12:26 / km) +300m 10:54 / km

Ran with my mom for her Mothers day! We had fun, chit-chatting through the woods! It was nice for me to have an easy woods run with no pressure and for her to be able to run and navigate faster than usual (and get it over with sooner!) ;)
turned out to be a gorgeous day, sunny and breezy, about 60deg, though apparently back at home it was 43degrees and overcast alllll day!

Mtn Biking 2:00:00 [3]

Ride with K at Kingdom Trails. Got our season passes today!
Did the usual route, but when we got down to Old Webbs it started absolutely downpouring on us. I don't think i've ever been out in such big rain! After a bit of delay, most of the rain passed and we kept riding for another 45mins, but the fun had gone out of th trails since they were so slick and muddy now. We headed back to teh car and did a fairly quick transition to a trail run.

Running 35:00 [3]

Run off the bike. Great trails to run!!!! Super slick with the rain though and I had a spectacular slide for about 4feet on my right side down one of these muddy trails after my foot slipped on a turn. ugh. knee didn't appreciate it. Kept going for the rest of the run, though a bit easier as i could feel the scraped area jarring under the impacts. (sissy, i know). also had to stop and try to feed a stubborn cow, and then go see the horses..and goat.. and pigs.. i love this place.
finished the run pretty easy. Felt good though! Soooo much better than the last brick i did about a month ago after a two hour run, that was like a death shuffle! This was much better!

Mtn Biking 1:22:00 [3]

Kristoffer and our newfound neighbor went for a road ride after work, but my road bike is in serious need of a tuneup after riding this spring in the salty grime, so i took my mtn bike out for a spin instead. (Which also needed some work, but mostly only new brake pads, not like taking apart the whole bottom bracket... which i've renamed the crank hub..makes much more sense than bottom bracket.)
Anyway,... went out from the house and hit up some paved roads, dirt roads, rail trail and even a bit of bushwhacking and tiptoeing over a rickety old rail trestle! Felt like i was adventure racing again for a minute. Legs weren't working so well for the first half, but most of it was straight up hill. Seems as though i haven' tbeen out on a bike for a very long time...whcih i guess i haven't.. not since riding in CT with Joe! wow. glad i got out..finally!
Going to Kingdom this weekend - yay!! (If it doesn't rain too hard and they close..)

Running 1:15:00 [3]

Started out with K, and we were going to do Daniels loop (again) together, this time. But, about a mile in, he was setting too fast a pace for me so I let him go and did my own run. Instead of doing Daniels again (which he finished in 46mins! - NEVER would've been able to keep that pace up!!) I decided to go longer and created a loop of 50pave/50trail using the railtrail most of the way back. Also hardly hit any hills except for the monster hike back up from the railtrail. which i ran, but barely...more of a shuffle. This loop would be great for threshold runs, but I gotta get better on the hills..though it doesn't help with how poor the footing is on that "trail".. it's more of a steep, muddy, rocky snowmobile cleared area. there is a reason it doesn' tget used in the summer!
