orienteering 1:37:55 intensity: (8 @1) + (3:45 @2) + (27:06 @3) + (48:29 @4) + (18:27 @5) 3.96 mi (24:44 / mi) +172m 21:47 / mi

Red course (it was 5km and that was the distance I wanted) at White Clay Creek. I now remember why I don't go to events there any more. Way too many prickers and an uninteresting course.

Knee locked with a couple controls to go in the fields. Bleah.

map hiking 1:32:34 intensity: (3:28 @1) + (1:31 @2) + (1:07:19 @3) + (18:55 @4) + (1:21 @5) 2.75 mi (33:39 / mi) +64m 31:24 / mi

Picking up controls. Just as thorny for those controls - all different than the ones on the red course - but I wasn't pushing and I was a little more careful. Was told none were water controls, but one was. The same control was not hung where the circle showed. Luckily I was looking around for an easy way in to the ruin/building that was in crappy stuff that the circle showed and happened upon the control on a different building on a trail. Wonder what was going on with that.

Knee was fine for this. I had sat down after finishing the red course and ate something and was thinking of just heading home, but my knee felt okay when I got up so I thought I'd test it. And it was fine. Because I was picking up controls I was stopping frequently and not really pushing so that might have something to do with it.

Still not sure how the Crooked Compass will play out.

Pokey hike in the Wiss. Put weights in my pack to get used to carrying a bit of a load.

Note
(rest day)

Decided to take a rest day today. Can't say that I really needed it, but I don't think it will hurt either.

ahr:107 max:168

Shortish class today - she couldn't get the sound system working for a bit. Knee a little sore from yesterday so my lunges were a bit shallow. And I still can not do side planks.

Nothing exciting - just getting a long hike in for the week since I'm not sure of plans for the weekend.

I feel pretty wasted after about 3 hours. I wonder if sitting down and resting for a bit would give me a second wind.

Class at the gym. Typical Tuesday but I felt like I was struggling a bit less. Then again, I did some digging in the yard yesterday so my back and shoulders were tight but everything loosened up as the class progressed.

Hill Repeats. I think my Garmin is dead. Or very sick or something. It only got the first two hills - I did six - and didn't get me home.

Not particularly speedy but I wanted to make sure I did all six I planned.
