orienteering race 1:11:11 [3] 3.9 km (18:15 / km)

Despite having a lot on my mind (my sister is having some major medical issues) I decided to go the event anyway. Stuck to my plan to just walk the course and not take a chance of aggravating anything. Worked reasonably well as I wasn't even all that stiff and sore in the evening which is the case if I try to jog even a little bit.

Session with Melissa. Definitely can do more than I could when I started with her.

hiking 1:40:21 [3] 4.38 mi (22:55 / mi) +119m 21:08 / mi

Walked over to the Schuylkill Center and wandered around on the trail network for a bit since I need to start thinking about my sprint courses for May 23. Wore my pack with some weight in it. A couple new trails that will make it a bit easier to set some courses that don't look just like the courses from last year.

orienteering 1:14:01 [3]

And another super nice day. I didn't think the course was quite as good as Saturday's. A lot of it was good but there was an unnecessary drop of 6 contours down to a cliff followed by climbing right back up again when there was plenty of interesting stuff up top. I didn't have any "errors" although I was pretty sloppy to a couple controls - the first one because i was reconciling the fact that the cadet at the start told me the map was 1:10,000 when it was actually printed at 1:7,500 and a later one when I had a couple people right behind me and I didn't want to lead in to another control so I went around a bit and let them get ahead of me.

Very happy with my route choice on the long leg. Walked the whole thing again. And really enjoyed myself again.

And the best part of the day was Barb immediately saying yes when I asked her if she might be interested in doing the 2020 world rogaine champs with me as a partner.
