Cold again - low 20's. Took my hiking poles and felt pretty good.

So glad Sandy texted this morning or I most likely wouldn't have done anything. Meadow loop in the rain. The trails were a muddy mess and I was soaked within minutes, but it's also over 60F so really nice to get out without worrying about how many layers to wear.

Only got a few hours sleep last night - just couldn't settle down - and was really sore when I got up this morning, mostly in the glutes. Could be from Tuesday's hill repeats or Wednesday's workout with Kelly or most likely some combination of both. So decided a slow meander through the park would be fine especially since it was 55F. But, it was definitely colder down in the valley, and many sections of the trails were slushy, sloppy messes and even icy in some spots that were in the shade. So my decision to wear hiking boots to keep my feet dry was reasonable on the one hand, but I really missed not having the O-shoe studs. Went down to Forbidden Drive figuring that would be better and it was but it was also pretty chilly and I was barely warm enough. But it was really pretty out and it felt good to be moving so I made a conscious decision to enjoy myself and I did.

Workout with Kelly. I'd done enough on my own the last few weeks that this wasn't too bad.

Hill repeats. Been a while - breathing hard after about the half way point. The downs were easy though - soft snow and icebugs made for good footing. The hill doesn't get much sun so while the snow was soft it hadn't melted into puddles like in a lot of other places.

Oh, and two quick jogs on Cathedral just to remind myself that I should start to think about jogging again at some point.

Meadow loop with Sandy. At 25F it seemed positively balmy. I expect the trails will be getting pretty sloppy starting tomorrow.
