Long hike with Sandy in the Wissahickon. Many of the trails are still very icy although the meadow trails were mostly mud. Her Garmin says closer to 6 miles.

I decided to walk over to the trailhead and back from the trailhead and not jog on the road. Besides being better for my knee, it gives me a little chance to warm up and cool down. I kind of liked this and will most likely stick to it.
Jogged the whole loop, going as slowly as I needed to in order not to walk. That was the plan and I stuck to the plan. That is my mantra for the month.
Unfortunately, I did not stick to the plan in regards to eating and indulged a bit last night while attending a school function. Unsurprisingly it showed on the scale this morning. Three light days of exercising in a row probably didn't help either. But, a mental break was not a bad thing in the long run most likely.
Class. Small again (3). Didn't do quite as much core work as Wednesday but still a good class. Perhaps I'll be inspired to do a bit of core this evening.

TNT - early edition with Sandy before it got dark. Which was a good thing because most trails and most of the drive was a sheet of ice and trying to see where the good footing was would have been much, much hard with a headlamp.
The plan was to do intervals, 10 repeats of jog for 1:30 and walk for 1:00. I miscounted though and we didn't turn around until after 6. When we did what turned out to be #11 I kept waiting for the watch to beep but it didn't and I finally checked at about 2:00. Then we weren't quite back to the trail head so we did one more just for kicks. They definitely felt easier as we did more.
We then checked out a huge tree that had fallen across the drive. It must have fallen yesterday in the crazy wind we had.
Met two women on horses on the trail back up to the meadow. After chatting about the trail conditions they decided to walk their horses in the woods instead of trying to go down the trail.
Glad I stuck to the plan tonight - I was actually looking forward to the workout and enjoyed it. It's nothing spectacular but I wasn't sure I was ever going to do any running so this is just fine.
