orienteering 1:12:46 [3] 4.8 km (15:10 / km) +135m 13:17 / km

Although the weather forecast was ominous it was actually a great day for orienteering. And with epunch inside, it was a really nice set up.

Did the green course. Ran a little but not much. The first half of the course was mostly trails and fields so tried to run, the second half was going through lots of rocks and briars with occasional nice open woods, so couldn't run much. A very nice course given the terrain but I wouldn't want to go back once things have leafed out.

No big errors but lost a little time at 4 when I stayed too high at first.

Note

No real training but a long day on my feet helping Valerie time the HAT run. Nice to visit with Ann and Charlie.

trail 35:02 [3]

Trail loop with Sandy. Hot, not just warm, out. Felt like I had lead weights on, too. But good to get out anyway.

Can't decide whether to mow my weeds or just continue ignoring the jungle in my yard.

running 1:09:26 [3]

TNT - great workout with Sandy. Jog down to the covered bridge, walked the hill, then ran 7 hill repeats, jog back to my reentrant, walk up the hill home. For each of the hill repeats except number 4 and 7 I ran 100 paces and then walked the rest of the way to the trail junction (top of the hill is a bit further). On number 4 there were two guys with a dog on the trail and no way I was running past the dog so I walked after 50 paces. And I was beat by #7 so also only ran 50 paces and walked the rest. Mostly walked back down the hill since it is very rocky and steep, only jogging the last bit where it's smoother and a little flatter. Times up/down for the 7:
146/157
148/214
152/203
204/218
148/206
158/225
