orienteering 3:06:02 [3]

Blue Course at Mt. Penn - Antietam. Did it with Sandy Ahlswede.

Since we dnf'ed we don't show up on the splits. :(

We were doing fine until control #14. We were on a road and we were supposed to go down a really, really steep, really really rocky, really briary slope and there was just no way we could find down that looked safe. And, we would have had to just come right back up to the road again and go down the other side which was just as steep and rocky and nasty looking. So after going up and down the section of road a few times we decide to skip those two controls. The next control was fine but we must have forgotten to punch; it was a water stop and I know we had water and we don't have another punch so we didn't punch any other control so we must have forgotten. Very weird. That was #16. We did 17, 18 and 19 and then realized we were going to be overtime so skipped 20 and 21 as well, even though they didn't look that tough and would have only added another 10 minutes or so.

So a very good workout - I'm mega sore this evening - but a little disappointing. Hopefully I won't be too sore tomorrow.

Lots of people overtime today. Definitely physical courses.

Helped Valerie time the 50K HAT run. Charlie was entered so hike with Ann for a bit after they started but before there was anything to do at the timing table.

Was on my feet for probably 8 hours. Stood in the sun for much of it and didn't think to put sunscreen on my nose which got a little burned.

An attempt to run as much of my hill loop as possible. Ran for 20 minutes, walked 4, ran 4 then alternated running with walking some of the uphills until the end. Felt totally spent when I finished.

Didn't remember to do these until I had gone to bed but was having trouble falling asleep so got up to stretch and remembered. So alternated pushups and stretching.

The crocuses in my yard are so pretty. As I've done various (very minor) landscaping projects in the yard I've been digging them up and spreading them around each summer and I forget where I plant them since I really just throw them anywhere that there's not too many other things. So I totally forgot that they would be all over the beds in my back yard.

TNT - Indian loop with Sandy. We jogged several sections. And we didn't need our headlamps. Yay!!!

65 pushups
Was planning to do 8 sets of 15. Did 4 plus started a fifth and died. My arms were toast. Not sure why.

Yoga/Pilates 1:15:00 [3]

Yoga class. Not one of my favorite classes as we did a lot of stretching type things and not much strength type things and the stretching mostly involved things where having knees that bend beyond 90 degrees was required. Although I did manage to hold Peacock Pose (mayurasana) for a second or two.
