Note
The mouse was out and about darting around the living room this morning and it pissed me off enough that I finally got myself down to the hardware store and bought some mouse traps. They were inexpensive little plastic trays, four to a box, covered with sticky stuff and some sort of nuts I think. I wondered if it was futile, but I put the four out - one by the sink, one by the stove and two by the refrigerator - and when I checked about 20 minutes later, one of them had a mouse stuck to it! I scooped the tray into a paper bag and threw it in the trash. Eew.
I haven't seen any more mice. Could I be so lucky that there was only that one? I felt so mean. Just like with the groundhog babies. I left the other three traps out. We'll see what happens.
Oh, and there's been a huge groundhog waddling around through my yard occasionally, but so far no signs that it's taken up residence under my shed. I just hope it's male!
