orienteering race 2:13:44 [4]

Did the medium loop. Felt good at the decision point and almost went for the long but decided not to. The rocky, steep downhills near the end were tough - I just don't have the balance/strength/confidence anymore to do more than baby steps down slopes like that. The uphills were fine. I wasn't able to run much near the end but then I wasn't able to run much near the beginning either.

Couldn't make TNT tonight so settled for an afternoon run on the drive. The ground was pretty frozen so not the most pleasant but it was nice to run in daylight. With the early DST this year, I guess TNT will be non-headlamp pretty soon.

Hmmm....knees feel much, much better after some stretching and strength work. Need to remember this.

TNT - Clem, Jim

3 miles on the drive; 10 min pace plus the down and up. Knees are really bad; I've been limping since Sunday. Don't hurt while running, but sitting, standing and walking are no fun. On the plus side the walk/jog up the hill home felt positively easy. Go figure.
